Kerr Co - Special Legislative Testimony

A marathon of testimony and remarks at The Senate and House Select Committees on Disaster Preparedness and Flooding yesterday in Kerrville. State officials heard from various leaders of the city, the county and organizations plus the public in regards to the response to the deadly flooding on July 4^th. The takeaways were that better coordination of warnings and evacuation was needed, funding for an emergency alert system along the river and also what type of system plus better training for the volunteer fire departments for water rescue. 108 deaths occurred in Kerr County. 2 remain missing. 9 people were recovered in Kendall County. According to Kendall County officials, those 9 are from upstream communities. The 2 still missing are not part of the 9 recovered.
