Kerr County - Vista Camps email

An email sent to parents from Vista Camps in Kerr County, said the camp will install a new flood warning system ahead of next summer according to the Houston Chronicle. The email said that six warning towers are to be placed strategically around the camp grounds to provide early alerts about potential flooding. The camp will monitor upstream river levels using information from the U.S. Geological Survey and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The Vista Camps which include girl's camp Sierra Vista and boy's camp Rio Vista, will also implement updated emergency protocols and have generators installed to ensure that operations can continue in the event of a power outage. Campers were not present at the Vista sites when the July 4 flood killed 130 people in Kerr County including 27 from Camp Mystic.
