Kerrville City Council unanimously denies an annexation request for Meek Ranch Subdivision at their Tuesday meeting. 263 acres and 1150 homesites were proposed for the subdivision on Bandera Highway near Comanche Trace Drive. In April 2024, Kerrville’s Planning and Zoning Commission approved annexation of the acreage if the homebuilder DR Horton changed some of the zoning requests. Even with the changes, several area landowners were against the annexation due to traffic concerns on Highway 173, wildlife and hill country lifestyle concerns and infrastructure strains. According to Mayor Joe Herring, there isn’t enough detailed information to make a decision for annexation of the property. (photo: City of Kerrville)
