Fencing rules have changed in Kerrville. City Council updated the codes recently. The tallest a fence can be in the front of a house is 72 inches. They can be made of ornamental fence, chain link, or other wire materials. If a solid material is used like brick, stone, or wood, the portion of the fence using those materials can only be 48 inches tall. Then the rest of the fence up to 72 inches will be see through. To read the new fence codes, go to kerrvilletx.gov. You’ll find them in the document center. Remember, you have to have a permit to build your fence.
