Kerrville - man dies avoiding KPD

A man dies in Kerrville after running from the Kerrville Police Department late Saturday evening. A traffic stop of a pickup on Harper Road ended in a deadly pursuit after the driver of the pickup accelerated away from the police officer’s vehicle. The driver then lost control of his vehicle, leaving the roadway hitting a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 1100 block of Lake Drive before crashing into a telephone pole, and overturning. The police officer called EMS and rendered aid to the driver who died at the scene. The driver’s name is being withheld pending notification of kin. The investigation is ongoing.
