Teen Court Program starting October in Kerrville in response to a mandate from the Texas Legislature. Teen Court is part of a diversion policy through the city’s Municipal Court. The policy is to ensure that juveniles have an opportunity to enter adulthood without a criminal record that could affect their educational, employment and military opportunities. Teens are defended, prosecuted and sentenced by other teens. Punishment is the only thing to be addressed in teen court. If the teen successfully completes the Teen Court program, the charge is dismissed. Yesenia Luna is the Teen Coordinator. Reach her at Yesenia.luna@kerrvilletx.gov. if you have questions.
