29 year old micro-lender Liftfund in San Antonio receives a 10 million dollar gift from MacKenzie Scott, the former wife of Amazon’s Jeff Bezos. Says the San Antonio Report. Founder Janie Barrera, a former nun is the president and CEO. She has grown the non-profit to service a 15 state area with a portfolio balance of 52 million dollars and a 96 percent repayment rate. The gift from Scott has helped Lift Fund to lower it’s lending interest rate from 12 percent to 9 percent as traditional lenders have raised rates.
