October is Fentanyl Poisoning Awareness Month. Governor Greg Abbott and state lawmakers made the designation. Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid. It’s 50 times stronger than heroin. On average 5 Texans die every day from fentanyl poisoning says the CDC. More information is at hhs.texas.gov.
