Fredericksburg’s Oktoberfest lands at number 8 on USA Today’s list of best Oktoberfests. The 43rd annual event starts on Friday and runs through Sunday. All events are at Marktplatz. Event schedule and tickets are at oktoberfestinfbg.com. Oktoberfest was born in 1810 when Prince Ludwig of Bavaria married Princess Therese, and they threw quite the beer-infused party to celebrate. The Pedernales Creative Arts Alliance began and orchestrates the Fredericksburg Oktoberfest. It’s their only fundraiser for the year.
