Paper dealer tags will soon be a thing of the past. Governor Greg Abbot signed a bill eliminating their use. Dealers will provide ten dollar metal plates to buyers. Texas Department of Motor Vehicles have until December 2024 to come up with a plan on creating and providing the metal plates to vehicle dealers. The law will take effect July 1, 2025.
