Bandera is looking into using services that monitor short term rentals per the Bandera Prophet. Commissioner Jack Mosely said that the county collects Hotel Occupancy Tax from 122 businesses but they believe there’s over 500 more operating. The tax collector Reba Dolphus believes they are missing out on property tax money plus there’s not enough staff to monitor every short term rental.
