District 53, Texas State Representative Andrew Murr is not seeking re-election in 2024. Murr’s district includes Kerr and Bandera Counties. He’s been experiencing serious backlash for his effort to oust Attorney General Ken Paxton. Murr says he wants to spend more time with family. This is his fifth term. Wes Virdell from Brady Texas has already announced his bid to run for the seat.
