19 Texas camps sue the state over fiber-optic internet required by legislation regarding last year's floods. According to the Texas Tribune, the service is too expensive or impossible to get. The lawsuit is against the Department of State Health Services, it’s commissioner, the commission and AG Ken Paxton. The lawsuit states that the requirement for installation of fiber optic internet does not make their properties safer, violates the state constitution and state law and could prevent them from opening. Some camps have received estimates of over a million dollars to install the fiber plus as much as 3500 dollars monthly for service over 5 years.
