Texas - comptroller resignation

Texas interim Comptroller to resign at the end of the month. According to the Texas Tribune, Kelly Hancock turned his resignation letter in to Governor Greg Abbott yesterday. Hancock was appointed by Governor Abbott for the role last year after the previous comptroller, Glenn Hegar left to be a chancellor at Texas A&M.  Hancock’s biggest achievement was the handling of the $1 billion dollar school voucher rollout. Hancock was defeated in his bid for a full term in March against Don Huffines. Huffines now will go up against Democratic State Senator Sarah Eckhardt of Austin in November.
