Texas - Don Huffines appointed interim Comptroller

Texas interim Comptroller to resign at the end of the month.  Kelly Hancock turned his resignation letter in to Governor Greg Abbott Wednesday. Hancock was appointed by Governor Abbott for the role last year after the previous comptroller resigned. Hancock was defeated in his bid for a full term in March against Don Huffines. Now Abbott has appointed Don Huffines interim Comptroller ahead of the general election. He will start the job August 1.  Huffines face Democratic State Senator Sarah Eckhardt in November.
