TPWD - Freshwater Fisheries Center closes due to construction

After a ceremonious grand opening of the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center or TFFC, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department officials announce emergency closure. On July 1^st the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens, Texas opened its doors after a major facilities renovation. Due to a structural issue on a column in the building, this past Friday, the TFFC temporarily closed while the steel column is repaired. The TFFC is a resource and teaching facility about the state’s diverse waterways.
