TPWD to take Fairfield Lake State Park by eminent domain

What is the difference between eminent domain and condemnation. One is the state’s right to take a property. The other is the process to take the property. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission will start the condemnation procedure to take Fairfield Lake and Fairfield Lake State Park in Freestone County from a developer who just purchased the 5 thousand acre property on June first. The commission held a special meeting this past Saturday to authorize the filing of the condemnation petition and pursue acquisition to preserve the area for public use.
