TWC extends deadline for Disaster Unemployment Assistance

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) has received federal approval to extend the deadline for Disaster Unemployment Assistance applications relating to the July 4th flooding. Governor Greg Abbott announced Friday that individuals who may be eligible for DUA now have until September 29th—to apply for assistance. Visit twc.texas.gov for information. Under the Presidential Disaster Declaration, workers and self-employed individuals in 10 counties which include Kerr who have been unable to work due to damage from severe storms and flooding may be eligible for benefits.
