The Texas Education Commissioner faces a lawsuit by numerous school districts and more expected to join. Mike Morath is accused of lowering the A through F performance rating systems for the last school year. The lawsuit claims changing the system retroactively could lower performance ratings for school which means less funding. The Texas Education Agency calls the change 2023 A-F Refresh. Earlier in the year over 230 school districts sent a letter with their concerns to the T-E-A and Governor Greg Abbott.
