The VA Caregiver Support Program offers a SAVE training to caregivers and family members of veterans. The training teaches how to recognize warning signs of suicidal thinking. SAVE is an acronym. S is for signs of suicide, A is asking about suicide, V is validating feelings and E is for encouraging help and expediting treatment.
