Governor Greg Abbott signed Alyssa’s Law on Tuesday. The law requires panic buttons to be installed in all school rooms. It’s for the ability for teachers to activate a silent panic alert button alerting campus officials and first responders. The law is named after Alyssa Aldehaff, killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in 2018. . Texas is one of five states that has passed "Alyssa's Law.
