Dripping Springs population has not only doubled. If TXDot has their way, traffic will increase with plans for a 290 expansion. The preliminary plans are calling for expanding 290 from 4 lane into a 6 lane freeway with frontage roads from Austin into Dripping Springs. The plan would eliminate the traffic signals on 290.
