Gillespie Co Sheriff Dept wants a raise

Gillespie County Sheriff’s Department is asking for a new salary program. The request would raise the county’s budget by 830 thousand dollars. Due to a new Texas bill, the sheriff’s department could be eligible for 350 thousand dollars. County commissioners agreed that the $350,000 in grant funding from the state should be used for salary increases in the department. Reports the Standard Radio Post.
