State Senator Roland Gutierrez has joined with the residents of Helotes in opposing the wastewater treatment plant permit for Lennar Homes. Reports the San Antonio Report. Gutierrez sent a letter to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to deny the permit. Florida based Lennar is planning a 29 hundred housing development on Guajolote Ranch and needs the wastewater plant to serve the area. The plant would dump millions of gallons of effluent water into Helotes Creek which is located across the Edwards Aquifer and recharge zones.
