The Attorney General to replace the Attorney General has resigned after a few weeks. Provisional Texas Attorney General John Scott submitted his resignation to Governor Greg Abbott. His last day in office is Friday. Abbott appointed him to oversee the AG office in place of Ken Paxton. Scott returns to the private sector. In the meantime, the governor has tapped his deputy chief of staff, Angela Colmenarro as the new interim AG. She’s the first female Attorney General in the state’s history.
