Kerrville - Officer Involved Shooting

Kerrville Police officer involved in a shooting incident early Tuesday morning. Both Kerrville Police Department and Fredericksburg Police Department issued statements. Kerrville Police officer attempted a traffic stop and the suspect fled into Gillespie County through Highway 16. Both Gillespie County Deputies and Fredericksburg Police Department assisted by deploying tire deflating devices. The suspect crashed the vehicle, exited and lunged at the Kerrville officer. The officer drew his weapon and shot the suspect who was pronounced dead at the scene by the justice of the peace. The officer and the suspect's names have not been released. The officer involved has been placed on paid administrative leave.
