The City of Kerrville’s Public Works is taking action to identify and replace lead pipes across the city. The work is part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR). The LCRR requires water utilities to create and maintain an inventory of all service lines and identify them accordingly. Any service lines identified as lead must be replaced within 10 years. Public Works is sending notices to certain customers informing them that their water service line is classified as “unknown” at this time. Contact Kerrville Works if you need more information.
