The City of Kerrville is asking citizens to continue to conserve water. This year, the Guadalupe River is experiencing significantly lower water flow than usual. Currently flowing at just 20 CFS (cubic feet per second), compared to the normal 89 CFS, the river is under considerable strain. In the coming weeks, as trees begin to leaf out and grass starts to grow, the increased water uptake by plants will further decrease the river’s flow. Stuart Barron, executive director of Public Works advises residents to not plant new or replace old landscaping due to insufficient rainfall or irrigation water.
