KISD budget - lower tax rate?

Monday afternoon Kerrville ISD had a budget meeting with CFO Jarrett Jachade and Superintendent Brent Ringo. They proposed a budget with a lower tax rate that could allow raises and incentives for district employees. Proposed is a tax rate of 85 cents per 100 dollars. Current rate is 1 dollar and 3 cents per 100 dollars. KISD Board of Trustees will vote on the proposal on Monday. Staff benefits proposed are a 4 percent mid-point raise, an additional 1000 dollars for teachers with masters degrees and a 13 dollar an hour minimum rate for hourly employees.
