Karen Guerrierro, President of Kerrville Pets Alive shared information that 3 bills protecting animals will become law in Texas. One will prohibit those convicted of animal cruelty to not be able to own a pet for 5 years. Another, drops down the amount of breeding females an owner can have from 11 to 5. And the third bill is if you trap, neuter and return a cat to its original location you can’t be prosecuted for abandonment. They are expected to pass the Texas Legislative session and be signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott taking effect September 1st.
