Author of harrowing experience during the Hill Country’s July 4th flood wins a Pulitzer. Aaron Parsley of Texas Monthlywas awarded the Pulitzer for Feature Writing. For his extraordinary personal account of survival and loss written days after the historic Central Texas floods that tore the writer’s house out from under him and his family, taking the life of his 20 month old nephew. The article is titled “The River House Broke. We Rushed in the River”. It became the most-read story in the magazine’s 53-year history.
