A 6 th  family has filed a lawsuit against Camp Mystic. The Peck’s lost their daughter in the July 4 th  flood. The lawsuit was filed by Howry Breen and Herman LLP, Austin. Today is Veteran’s Day. Kerr County is inviting the public to the dedication of 550 Earl Garrett Street, to be known as the Burton Annex at 3pm. The building housing the Veterans Service Office will be dedicated to Allie Bowman Burton Jr., a decorated military hero serving in multiple wars. Colonel Burton is still living at 101 years of age.

Fredericksburg residents and Gillespie County Commissioners urge the City of Fredericksburg to work with the county on developments in the extraterritorial jurisdictions. According to the Standard Radio Post, City Manager Clinton Bailey held several meetings with residents that included Commissioner Precinct 3 Chuck Jenschke, representatives of developments on Hollmig Lane and the Sonoma Oaks Subdivision. Drainage and traffic are main issues.

Texts and emails to and from Kerr County Judge Rob Kelly explain why he was missing from the July 4 th  flood briefings with state officials. According to CBS Texas, Kelly was with his wife who was concerned about looting after their property experienced flooding. He was originally in Austin for the holiday and returned at 10am to Kerrville. Kelly held a press conference at 11:30am and went home afterwards. He indicated to Commissioner Tom Jones at 9pm, he wasn’t able to retu

The City of Kerrville municipal offices and the Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library will close on Tuesday, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. The Parks and Recreation office at Kerrville-Schreiner Park will remain open. Regular business hours resume on Wednesday.

Kerr County Animal Control reports the county’s eighth positive case of rabies for this year. A skunk was found in a residential yard in the 300 block of Queen Bee Drive, in the Bumble Bee neighborhood located between Ingram and Hunt. An animal control officer collected the specimen last Friday, which tested positive for the disease.  The family’s pets were exposed to the skunk.  They will have to go through the rabies protocol of quarantine and vaccine boosters if vaccinated

If you’re needing help to navigate the appeal process with FEMA, Texas RioGrande Legal Aid is hosting a free FEMA Appeal Clinic at the Doyle Center, Kerrville next Tuesday. TRLA staff will be on hand to answer questions, assist with FEMA applications and appeals, and provide legal guidance for disaster-related issues. Boerne woman arrested for vandalism. According to the Boerne Star, Claire Breitzeutz, 52 was arrested by Boerne Police last Tuesday and was charged with 3 counts of criminal mischief. Breitzeutz was caught on surveillance from 2 locations breaking windows on Main Street.

The National Museum of the Pacific War is hosting a Veterans Day commemoration ceremony on Tuesday at 11 a.m. The event will take place in the museum’s memorial courtyard. Brigadier General Kevin Jarrad, Commanding General of the 4 th  Marine Division is the guest speaker.

Salvation Army Kerrville Kroc Center releases fundraisers total. The 38 th Annual Circle of Service raised almost 48 thousand dollars at the September luncheon. In October, the 15 th  Annual Pumpkin Run raised almost 43 hundred dollars.
