Kerrville - Arcadia Live is 100
The Arcadia Theater is a centenarian. The City of Kerrville proclaimed June as the 100-year anniversary of the theater. Boerne - drowning at the Lake
An incident on Sunday early evening led to the evacuation of Boerne City Lake. Dispatch received an initial 911 call around 6:30 p.m. regarding a child who was in the water and did not resurface. TX Hill Country - Gracie the Giraffe
Viral sensation Gracie the Giraffe was finally found on Friday morning. A Concho Aviation helicopter flew over the area Gracie was last seen on a wildlife camera and she was finally located in a desolate canyon. Even though she was only 4 miles from her home the Cedar Hollow Ranch near Leakey, by vehicle her location was 50 miles. Due to the terrain a special sled had to be constructed to get her to the trailer as they couldn’t get drive into the area.

KISD - Hal Peterson has a new principal
Hal Peterson Middle School will start the next school year with a new principal. Rose Gonzales has been appointed as the new Principal of Hal Peterson Middle School. Gonzales brings 23 years of experience in education, all of which have been spent at Kerrville ISD. She was previously the Associate Principal and has held a variety of roles throughout her career, including teacher, counselor, and administrator.

TPWD data breach
3 million Texans data breached. According to The Texas Parks and Wildlife an unauthorized user may have swiped personal driver license information, passport numbers, email addresses, phone numbers and residential addresses. Texas Cyber Command detected unauthorized access within an external, third-party vendor that manages the digital sales platform for hunting and fishing permits. The breach didn’t compromise social security numbers, dates of birth or financial information.

Kerrville has a new Police Chief. Assistant Police Chief Jerel Haley. Haley brings 33 years of law enforcement experience, including prior service as a police chief, investigations commander, emergency management instructor and law enforcement executive.
